Tumne hi toh kaha tha na Reetu, buri aadat ko chodne ke liye ek acchi aadat ki zaroorat hai... Tum thi meri acchi aadat!
I'll Be Waiting (Kabhi Jo Baadal) - Cover by Arjun

You're beautiful
You criminal
Girl you took everything from me
Can't let you go
Like a general
I'm going into battle cause...

You stole the breath from my lungs
Cut my veins, bleeding love
Oh I still remember that scene..
Cuz I can see the tears running down your cheek
I can feel your body so close to me
I can hear the rain dropping at your feet
Cuz your love was gone

(Koi nahi.. Mita de sabhi..)
24x7, I will be waiting

Out in the rain till somebody saves me
Don't care if it takes forever to make you believe
Kabhi jo baadal barse
Main dekhoon tujhe aankhein bharke
Tu lage mujhe pehli baarish ki duaa

It's like a gun shot went straight through me
Stopped my heart from beating
No - won't let you get away
Cuz I can see the tears running down your cheek
I can feel your body so close to me
I can hear the rain dropping at your feet
Cuz your love was gone

Kabhi jo baadal barse
Main dekhoon tujhe aankhein bharke
Tu lage mujhe pehli baarish ki duaa
Tere pahloo mein reh loon
Main khudko paagal keh loon
Tu gham de ya khushiyaan
Seh loon saathiya

You're killin me
You're bad for me
So why do I feel such ecstasy?
Do you believe
In you and me
How do I stop this jealousy?

I'll never stop fighting till you're with me
I built a castle and you're my queen
Just give me a chance to make you believe it again
24x7 I'll be waiting

Out in the rain till somebody saves me
Don't care if it takes forever to make you believe
Cause you've got to believe it...

Kabhi jo baadal barse
Main dekhoon tujhe aankhein bharke
Tu lage mujhe pehli baarish ki duaa
Tere pahloo mein reh loon
Main khudko paagal keh loon
Tu gham de ya khushiyaan
Seh loon saathiya..

It's like a gun shot went straight through me
Stopped my heart from beating

No - won't let you get away..

We all have to learn different lessons in life. IMO - everyone come into our life for a reason. At the same time, each person has to come to their own realizations on their own time. This is also known as karma. However you view it, when we adopt a broader view, we're able to get out of our limited thinking.

Reason - Somehow, the thinking/researching/sharing/learning process of the purpose of life or my existence is somehow like food to me. Like the favorite food that has the capacity to stimulate the appetite, prompt me to eat more of it, and motivate me to pursue it. Through the course of it, the excitement of having found something that answers my deepest questions is unbound. Naturally, like a person in love, I wanted to share this love with everyone, especially my friends/family and closed ones. Hence it disappointed and frustrated me when they did not share that excitement. It took years for me to see the bigger picture – they have decades of conditioning behind them which might be standing against the concepts of spirituality that are very commonplace for us now. Though it is very common in India to have grown up with terms like karma, past lives, etc., these are “conditions” taken for granted, rather than conditions that can be consciously influenced. This understanding still feels as strange to them(excluding my western friends) as having cornflakes for breakfast.

Problem - One good example that I can put forth here is My Parents and their Married Life. It(Marriage)is often a status quo. While our parents may have got along very well (irrespective of whether the marriage was arranged or out of love) in our childhoods, as they begin to get old, they begin to reminisce a lot. Whether it is because of menopause, or a constant sense of a past weighing them down all the time, or simply a physical condition translating into irritability, parents can get into fights where they might bring up old issues and buried emotions that had no room earlier. It can destroy our perception of them as being “ideal” parents having an ideal marriage even if we are exposed to our friends’ families falling apart. It can disillusion us and leave us confused. I know I went through (still do) hell in my mind struggling to choose the right from wrong of my parents doing.

Understanding - The mirroring theory is the most artistically at work here. I’ve often observed that if there is even a single thought wandering in my subconscious against my decision to break a paradigm, it will get projected in their thinking. Like it or not, parents exist in the same thought field as you and are more sensitive to picking up thoughts from this field, especially when one is defensive or in conflict about a decision. Clean up your thinking and they certainly respond. Secondly, the goal of acting on something we deeply care about and the goal of rebelling against authority can sometimes get mixed up and the consequences can be very messy. To ensure that what you feel like doing is only for your sake, and not for the sake of proving something to your parents takes absolute courage – because it demands your total honesty to yourself. Ages ago when I was not ready to realize the depth of it my grandma (mom's mom) had wisely pointed out that this is where guilt can be a precise pointer –when there is guilt, the act almost always is being carried out as a rebellion against something rather than rising from a heartfelt intent. Thirdly, acknowledging the conditioning that worrying = good parenting in the realm of unconscious parenting. The only way I’ve found that has worked around this is to casually bring up the discussion and being a willing and open listener, providing a safe space for them to voice those fears out for themselves.

Practice - Parents have often rushed through life – through their careers, babies, investments, taking care of our schooling, then college and marriage and now the train of doings seems to have halted abruptly. Often things may have gone unexpressed between them at various points in time due to various reasons. Now the emotions and memories seem to be catching up. When I learnt to relate this way, their disruptions and issues didn’t seem personal to
me (even if I happened to be the subject of those conversations). I stopped interfering and just watched. These are two people working out their soul’s journeys with each other. Why interfere?” I remember my grandma saying. When they ask me to take sides, I check within if I can give them an authentic, balanced viewpoint. If not, I just tell them frankly that I don’t know what to say and won't be the best to judge either. To put in your confusion along with a train of emotions for “working it out” is to add to the mess.

Continuation - Maybe it is always best to give everything its well deserved time. But always remember, in the path of consciousness, parents are our biggest mirrors. At one point life asks us to stop viewing them as just caretakers and changes our roles into caregivers. For some this happens very early. For some, the change happens and takes us by surprise. Either way, the final step is to grow out of the roles and start viewing them as two unique individuals you are born to, so as to work out our lessons together with them. It is indeed a defining moment when you learn to love and be there for them as if you’ve completely chosen it, rather than as a chore or running in a default mode. While becoming a parent undoubtedly has its rewarding moments (which I have only heard about second hand), transforming into a conscious person in their midst unabashedly has beautiful rewards. And this I can tell by first-hand experience. The grass is definitely green on this side.

Love is Courtesy!

I just don't understand why! So, do not ask me that yet.. but I think, this is mostly how many people approach a relationship. Consciously or unconsciously, they believe love is a sensation (based on physical and emotional attraction) that magically, spontaneously generates when Mr. or Ms. Right appears. And just as easily, it can spontaneously degenerate when the magic "just isn't there" anymore. You fall in love, and you can fall out of it too!!
Love is Courtesy!
Love is Courtesy!

An accumulation of motivations and emotions- goal-directed emotional state. In other words, love is a mind-set that causes the experience of other more fundamental emotions like euphoria. This makes sense from an evolutionary perspective; romantic love directs us towards the goal of obtaining a partner for reproductive purposes, and finding one’s partner is rewarded by feelings of extreme emotional pleasure.

Having said that, next time you are smooching your lover, choose you words carefully. Whispering how intense a goal-directed emotional state they set-off in you isn’t particularly romantic ;)!

We live our lives both as biologically animal and as culturally situated individuals. Our emotions might therefore have a biological basis, even if they are expressed in a culturally understandable way. We see it as a social construct. How we perceive other people and evaluate our feelings for them come greatly from outside influences such as watching how our parents love each other, how our friends love their significant others, etc.

“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious—the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”   Albert Einstein

I turn 32 in today and I am making 32 seem sooooo damn young. So cheers to a sexy Birthday!
Wow - seriously? Where did the time go? I am so embarrassed that I have neglected my blog so much! No worries! Today I have some for you - Today I'm turning 32 it added one more year of experience to my life =)

I was just recalling the things changed in past one year and I learned few valuable things which will help me forever! I can really sense the changes as I'm growing .. changes around me, in me, my mindset, my outlook, everything changing =)

So, I really am 32!!!! It's true.  Let's talk about that for a second.

What is so wrong with getting older?  What is so wrong with aging with grace?  Why do we fight SO HARD against gaining a number?  I've been guilty of that.  I think I was just whining a few weeks ago about not wanting to turn 32.  But, why?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately.  For myself, I know the answer.  Somewhere in my head, I've decided that 32 means you are officially matured a grown up.  Not that I'm against being an adult, but I've been scared of personal expectations that I've put on myself... which is silly.  I love where I am in life.  I love my family, I love my friends, I love my pooches, I love my job, I love my blog, I love so many things about my life, why in the world would I want to make myself feel bad about the handful of things I have not yet accomplished?  So silly.

I will never stop at 31.  I will never lie about my number.  I will wear it proudly, embrace who I am, and be the best young guy I can be.

My plan for the day: I want to be free of thoughts and tensions on just this one day.! Nothing on my mind...absolutely nothing.

Still Smart and Sexy!!!

It is 2 AM and I am standing at the crosswalk on the corner of 5th avenue. As I walk towards 42nd St. I notice Times Square is quiet tonight.

It is not silent, mind you – no, the “city that never sleeps” could never be silent. It is 3 AM and the gaudy charmer still churns, twists, flashes its vitality of energy and movement – “You CANNOT miss this show! Buy your tickets now!” Coca-Cola sign, M&M's World, Barclays, Macys, laughter bubbles cold winter “would you mind taking a picture of us?” girls in pink uniforms flash-dance camera in front of a set with Ryan Seacrest. Jenny McCarthy sizzles in front of a 100 flashing cameras a feet away; Pretzels, Mary Poppins, Starbucks; grande skinny vanilla lattes, smoke from cigarettes, American Eagle . . .all and yet, Times Square is quiet.

I stand here – in the midst of all the bustle, honking, explosive color and lights – and the world suddenly blurs, its violent contrast abruptly muted to an almost harmonious hum.

And in the pulse that remains along its softened edges, I find what I have been searching.

“There is nothing to writing. You just sit down and bleed” - Ernest Hemingway

Freedom of expression is the most basic human right of all, the one upon which artistic and literary achievement, scientific discovery, religious reform, political freedom, and human progress hinge. Few artists have used their talents/influence to express such a right to uplift mankind as vigorously as Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson is gone, but his deeds and music will live on in my heart and mind forever.

Yes, the title of my post really is my plot synopsis for Battle Los Angeles. A movie that is about nothing but aliens killing marines and marines killing aliens for almost two whole hours. There were some twenty minutes of filler before the action scenes started, but none of it added anything to the movie. In fact, if you have already seen the trailer for the movie, then you already know everything that those twenty minutes tell you, which is nothing all that important or relevant to proceedings. Here is an example...my favorite one too; A helicopter will be coming in to rescue them in zero visibility due to the smoke and debris when the soldier throws out a smoke bomb to signal the helicopter where to land!!!! In another scene Michelle Rodriguez asks Aaron Eckhart why he never smiles amidst carnage and death on an unimagined scale!!! I guess the director was sleeping!!!

The entire cast, with the lone exception of Aaron Eckhart's staff-Sargent, are impossible to distinguish from one another. They are just anonymous figures that run through thick clouds of smoke, shout at each other, and shoot at anything that moves and is not human, and there is a lot to shoot at. So there is a lot of shooting, a lot of shouting, and a ton of explosions.

There is just no compelling story.

There is precious little positive that I can say about Battle Los Angeles. The special effects were excellent, but excellent special effects are ubiquitous these days. Even if they were not ubiquitous, movies still need to bring something compelling to the local cinema. Battle Los Angeles brings nothing. Nothing at all. Don't waste your time and money! PLEASE!

I have not blogged for a while yet again!!! Darn me! I have been busy with other things... don't ask me what! So anyway, I bought a galaxy tab last month, waited for the price to be right... little more than three months!!!

After playing with the original rom for couple of weeks, as usual I got to the ( I have no idea what I am doing mode)... but I am excited to note that flashing the tab was a lot different then usual (cell phone).... I assumed it would be like flashing a phone, but I was wrong. End result, I can now make an receive calls on my galaxy tab... and it works on 3g off my sim card! Overall, I like this device a whole lot more... and the speaker phone on it, is amazing. Oh btw, this has the new firmware that just leaked out... ;) ;)

So far the known pros are:

1) The BROWSER is very smooth with flash... I am very impressed.
2) Fund new, exciting and good looking widgets.
3) The drop down drawer is smoother.
4) Tweaked email client
6) Better camera focus? I think...
7) Overall the ROM feels very smooth... very!

I will keep you guys updated?.... maybe?!

Sighting

In an attempt to answer my buddy, I am going to blabber more about/on my previous post: Take Aim

To start lets discuss the details of the sighting mentioned in my previous post. Arjuna had not only sighted his target but analyzed it. Then he made a choice to seal in only on its eye thus the mention of the firing is almost incidental" and note "almost".

It is only because I do agree with the points you make but just clarifying that entrepreneurs should be able to not just sight but analyze. BTW, I hope this 'effect' is definitely not an after effect of marriage but an after effect of birth itself. :-)

The sighting state I mention in other words is harmony, all areas of the brain firing synchronously and creating a coherent state of activity. You can see this higher state of harmony in the more balanced brain-activity patterns of Arjuna versus the inharmonious, lower patterns of Ashwathama.

Interestingly, the occipital area of the brain, the area that controls vision, shows a reverse pattern compared with the other brain regions. Successful target hitters like Arjuna in our case show less activity at this location just before the stroke compared to Ashwathama because the processing is complete and no new information is being provided. The good knows where to look; the occipital area has completed its work. It simply harmonizes with the rest of the brain. "Poor" capitalist with varied eye patterns remain active in this brain region as if the processing is never complete. They lack the quiet eye at sighting.

It is like the keys on the piano. Certain combination's of notes create greater harmony than other combination's... we have to work on our project BG score!

Now, do you remember this sighting?? LOL

Take Aim!

"tomorrow will always be a question so let us cherish today and be open about anything and everything. Make today the happiest day of our lives! "

The above quote from my previous post is a summary of today's post..so if you do not feel like reading it all then STOP. It pisses me off when many people complain that it is not an "ideal situation" in their life to attempt something... anything. Let me tell you two things. Firstly, you will never have "a lot of time" for even the most important preparation in your life. Secondly, and this is something that I strongly believe in, mainly because I have been burnt by it before. And that is - there is never an "ideal time" to do anything in your life. There never is. There is always an inconvenience, a complication, an unforeseen problem, a random change of plans. I personally had a million things like this. What this post is trying to do is to say that such things should not be looked upon as bad luck. But as evidence of your requirement to plan better and fight it out. To get the adrenalin flowing! Because fighting it out during an inconvenient time, is probably the only time when you will live life to the fullest.

Dronacharyar was taking his protégés along for a trip during their training phase. It is said that Dronacharya was the greatest teacher in Archery who ever lived and among those following him as a group of students was the great Arjunan, Duryodhanan, Ashwathaman, Nakulan, Yudhishtiran and the rest of the band. This is a story, which you may have heard before. It is a special story for me. This is my chance to say this story in my own words. So hear it again.

Dronacharyar stopped a few hundred yards away from a tree and called Ashwathaman by his side. He pointed to the far away tree and asked Ashwathama "Do you see the tree over there". And Ashwathaman says "yes". "Do you see a bird sitting on the branch of that tree", asks the revered teacher. Ashwathaman says “yes! I can see". Upon which Dronacharyar instructs Ashwathama to take his bow & arrow and take aim. He says "don't shoot! Just take aim".

Ashwathaman, who is chaffing at the reputation being second best archer in the world to Arjunan, takes out his bow and arrows and marks his target ( which quite far away) and he places his arrow on his bow and pulls the string towards him, ready to shoot. His rivalry with Arjunan is well documented and he wants to be known as the best archer who ever lived. Dronacharya now asks him, " what do you see Ashwathama?"

Ashwathama replies " I see the bird, its legs, the twigs on the branch in which the bird sits, the small mango behind the bird, the leaves surrounding the bird, a small worm on the branch that approaches the bird." The surrounding crowd is amazed. Bheeman could barely see the bird and nobody else had the eyesight to spot so many small details that Ashwathama so casually spotted. The fire burned inside Ashwathama to out beat his greatest rival and this fire allowed him to see what other could not. Dronacharyar does not seem impressed and tells him "Shoot! but you shall miss". Ashwathama, son of Dronacharyar, is insulted by the prediction of his own father and fires his arrow. He misses. He was given one shot and he missed. Dronacharyar would never give him another chance. He wouldn't want it either.

So Dronacharyar calls upon Arjunan, who as the books say is standing quietly behind the crowd watching the proceedings. "Arjuna, do you see the tree and the bird in it". Arjunan replies in affirmative. "Take aim then Arjuna, but do not fire your arrow until I say so".

So there stands Arjuna. And as great many writers have described before, he stands in a majestic posture with bow slightly tilted skywards, his powerful body arched as much as the bow. Observers seemed to feel the urge to see once more in order to distinguish between the man and the bow as they seemed to have merged into a single entity. So there stood Arjuna, on windy day like a statue, unmoved as Dronacharyar took the time to ask the question. "So, Arjuna what do you see?" Arjunan replied "I see the eye of the bird O' teacher". Dronacharyar smiled and asked once more “Do you see anything else?". Arjuna took his time and said “No! I don't. I don’t even see the feathers. I just see the eye of the bird".

Dronacharyar said “Shoot and you shall not miss". Legends never describes what happened after Arjuna shot the arrow. It is assumed that once he fires - the target is his. So Arjuna fired and that is the end of the story.

What got me thinking about this story? I always think about this story. There are small stories and big stories that move people. Such stories influence people and remains with them forever. This story among the millions of stories in the great epic Mahabharata is to emphasize the value of single minded focus and concentration in achieving success. Opportunities knock but once. From my experience during such moments you always have to see the eye of the bird, the core of your target before you take aim. It is the sighting that counts, the firing is almost incidental, a mere confirmation of the sighting. I have so many times noticed this as the key difference between success and failure. It is in the sighting.

Now in this computer age steeped in algorithmic approach to life, you may think "once I get the understanding on the importance of sighting. I should be able to crack the problem". But let me tell you friends. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Arjunan was given a difficult test but his story is under typical conditions. Silence, nothing else but the bird to focus on, and nothing but the wind to disturb you.

In life, when you are moving towards the most significant test of life, a test, which if you shall pass will not only make you great but will open the key to your dreams - may not be in such typical conditions. You just get one shot.. Imagine that shot in a James Bond movie. Now I am not comparing or contrasting Bond and Arjunan. I would never think of doing so. I am trying to find an example which a modern day youth can identify with. Bond is dangling on a cliff a rope (a thin slender rope) is tied to his left leg on one side and a tree on the other side. This is what stops Bond from falling down 10,000 feet. He is upside down, shaking in the air, it is biting cold with a lot of fog, the enemies are firing at him. His target is a mile away and moving. The vision is blurry. Bond then looks into his gun and finds that he just has one bullet left. He just gets one shot. He has to sight the eye of the target in that moment, fire and win.

Ladies and gentlemen! This is the typical modern day test to achieve your goals. This is real life. There will never be an ideal time to run towards an opportunity of a lifetime. There will never be an orchestrated test. This is not to belittle Arjunan's feat (he may have had other tests which was much harder than my favorite test which I quoted above) but just an explanation of tests the way I see it in the modern world. You just get one shot and if you fail, it's gone forever. You will only be left fighting for lesser trophies. The one shot separates people. During that one shot a person has to shut out all the other ambient noise and zone in on his target. That is the essence of a true warrior. There is and was only one Arjunan in times when many great warriors lived, so it is natural that in today’s age only a few will hit and many will miss. But it is the process of sighting gives valuable instructions on the irrevocable nature of life.

So do take aim and focus.. but only so when it is needed..

Take Aim!

Okay, I know the title is very cheeeeeeeesy! But I could not think of anything better.. or I just was not trying hard enough! But in any case the fact remains I did buy the Onkyo HT-RC270, the equivalent to Onkyo TX-NR708 to replace my aging 10 year old Onkyo HT-S580S amp. I figured that after 10 years I could use a audio update even though the old Onkyo is still a amazing piece of equipment but at the same time I didn't want to spend $$$.

I wanted a receiver that had all of the newer DTS and Dolby surround formats and could power the 4 ohm Onkyo and Jensen speakers. I use/d the new and old amplifier to drive 4 ohms speakers. Most audiophiles will tell you to get external amplification to drive them. I am usually skeptical of these claims. (FYI- if you are gonna use this post as a review please use your own judgement for the speakers ;) And I also wanted to clean up the wiring mess by substituing all the digital in/out, component in/out, composite in/out and coax to a single ( maybe two or three ) HDMI!!!! Being able to use the HDMI really cleans up the cabling since it can also send the audio over the same cable. Same thing goes for my HD cable box (just upgraded too), HDMI no seperate audio cable needed... This new reciver some with an ethernet in, enabling though me to stream music via my in home server!!!

The Onkyo RC270 is a huge beast (comparetively) with a very hefty heat sink with dual fans. It has every single high-end adjustable settings you can think of. The only thing I discovered is that the noise correction caused my Netflix stream to ghost. However, that may be due to the noise correction algorithm coupled with the 120hz mode on my TV. Turning off the noise correction fixed the ghosting for me. The quality of the up conversion is good but perhaps a little soft for SD. But on the other hand it woks out well for my online streaming of Tamil Movies! LOL!

PROS:
135 Watts
Drive 4ohms speakers well
OSD for volume
Excellent Internet radio functionality
Regular cable for IPOD (I don't use one..will never use one)
Dual fans to cool heat sink
Per input level gain
Per speakers cross-over
Dual subwoofer output
Trigger
Firmware upgradeable (make sure you update right away **MUST MUST MUST)

CONS:
Warmer than the older Onkyo
Update 1/11/11: No dialogue enhancement

All in all, I'm very happy with this receiver. I originally wanted a Onkyo TX-NR808 as a replacement but as it is not budging on MSRP right now which means it would have cost me almost twice as much as this one. And also because there are currently no other receivers on the market that has the comparable features as this one at this price range!!

As some of you know, I am taking script writing classes and last weekend I attended a workshop on film making organized by AAC Movie Mania. It was a wonderful experience, though too short. It was a very insightful workshop on the basic do’s and dont’s. I have always wanted to create, be it music, writing a book or movie, this workshop filled me with great knowledge about the tiny details of film making; or any kind of creation for that matter.

So naturally after I finished it, my first thought was, "When is my story getting adapted into a screenplay and who is buying the rights?" haha! But I know the answer to that is ME and me only! All in all, I am preparing myself for the worst, but hoping for the best. I do wonder, in particular, how it's going to be viewed. We'll see. I hate having to wait, but meanwhile, I'll busy myself with studying the nuances of script writing.

Here is why...

Explore..
I do not watch much TV, news especially, simply because it nothing but biased propaganda, a joke, and all they care about is the ratings! I get 90% of my news from the internet, as do a hell of a lot of other liberal people. TV news was supposed to be about, the news is supposed to inform you on important issues so you can make an informed decision. But it is never the case these days.

But anyway, in recent times I watch it when I am at work as that is part of my working environment. Since then I happen to watch at home when it’s raining, maybe when I’m sick, or for a few select sporting events. And when and if I watch, it is only the Morning Express on CNN, why? Well, Robin Meade is very pretty (al though at times she puts on way too much make up) and that seems to be the point. Her delivery is odd and unnerving, with stresses and pauses in weird and inappropriate places, and the content is … lacking. I suppose Robin just reads off the teleprompter, though ― she seems completely unfamiliar with everything she reports, even the second or third time around ― so it must be somebody else’s fault. In any case she has style. Watch her when you get some time.. remember not for the news ;)

Oh FYI - I know there are much prettier and hotter women… but they are not from here like Mélissa Theuriau for exapmple. But, she is worth a whole new post, so look out for her soon ;)

Here is why...

Bears!!!

Ok, so I went hiking over the weekend and didn't encounter any bears. Maybe I’m an idiot (ok, keep your opinions to yourself, thank you...), but I’m disappointed that I didn't meet any bears in the woods. But then again I only went to Great Falls, VA!!!
A friend of mine told me that he had seen bears in the woods near where I went hiking, and that's kind of why I went hiking over the weekend. But I saw no bears :( But I did see some eagles and hawks…bugs.

But anyway it was lots of fun and tiring. My dogs loved it too :) They kept going and going.. guess they don’t get tired that easily. I especially like the fact that they don't really care if you're there or not. They kept going!! So you are left with no choice but to just keep going!! The trees, water fall and the animals.. what a sight full of serenity. It is funny but most of the things in the human world (car washes, malls, political parties, tv shows, etc) would disappear without human patronage and attention. But not the woods (and, well, nature) are seemingly disinterested in whether we're paying attention or not. And that's why the woods (and, well, nature) are so calming. I loved it!!

Picking it up..

Funk? Well, you know how you just feel like you are in a funk or a slump? Seriously, like you are in a rut that you can’t get out of? I have felt that way for the past few days. Hence, the lack of post. I just have felt like a hermit or a turtle wanting to hide in its shell and float away. It could be a full moon, the alignment of the planets, who knows. Hopefully it will pass soon. But I did want to post something...so.. and 'cause I did have a good time at my friends place this past weekend.

Last Saturday, I went over to visit Chandru and his baby girl Nikita. As you know I love photography and I love photographing newborn babies even more. So after taking some 50+ pics of Nikita I decided to give her some rest, She is a tiny little cuteee baby :) I will be posting some pics soon so watch out ;) That evening we, Chandru, bro and I decided to take a on a 4 mile run along the "famous" Rt.66. I must say it was quite a scene. Though I was exhausted much soon than expected, which I don't understand as I do run 4 miles every other day on the treadmill. Anyway it is always fun to run outside in the open with someone else.

Sunday after noon I decided to treat Chandru, his wife Usha, his Mom, my bro and most importantly myself to a good meal. Not that Usha's or Chandru's mom does not cook well I wanted it to be a treat from me. So, after driving to Fairfax to the Super H-Mart where I got some fresh veggies I took literally nothing more than 1hr and 15mins to cook a four dish lunch meal for five. I was quite impressed with the time. I thought my dishes were okay but everyone else loved it including my bro who is somewhat of a critic for the most part.. lol But either way I was happy, as I love to cook, especially for those I care. It gives me a good feel of accomplishment to make someone feel fulfilled. And as far as I know only food will make someone accept of being fulfilled anything and everything else we always want more.

Such fun filled happy moments reminded me… being in a slump doesn’t mean what your doing is wrong or off course… being in a slump means that you’ve done something that others haven’t done… YOU’VE STARTED! Traveling down the road less traveled will never be easy. Expect bumps in the road and even some moments of failure or miscalculated decisions along the way. Its all a part of the process! Its a part of the voyage…

Not again!!!

It happened again!!! And it is only 8 months since the last time!!! But at least this time around it was only my rear right tire. It was a quite a big piece of unrecognizable metal that punctured it!!

It was 8:08 this morning, and I just had passed AACC. Suddenly I felt loosing control of my real wheel, so after turning into the TD bank parking lot I reluctantly stepped out of car to find a flat...although I have changed a flat tire before and it is a no brainer, it is not something I need today! So after calling and letting my branch know of the situation I took to changing the flat to my donut. And I must say I was very impressed with my skills, it took me not more than three minutes to change the flat. It seems my triceps work out if finally paying off.. lol
Anyway it was 5 mins past my time due when I entered my office. So it was not too too bad.. oh and my baby was sleeping in the car all the while!! Yeah!! she comes to work with me :) Anyway I am happy for her :)

Vibrant

And don't tell me I did not warn you guys!! Android is the way to go now!! And trust me you would have no issues no matter how you hold it.. or even if you don't! lol I know it cheesy but had to rub it in ;)

Well, it has been five days since the launch for the Samsung Vibrant and three days since I got it. YAY! I have said enough about Android btw, way Android is the OS running on the phone. The retail came with 2.1 but I had rooted it and am now running 2.2 aka FROYO! The official FROYO release would be in mid August per T-Mobile, but I could not wait. So I am going to just highlight some jaw dropping technicalities of this phone!

The Vibrant’s 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen displays vibrant colors and spectacular video quality. What’s most surprising is the HD video recorder, which surprisingly produces crispy clear footage, with a minor, yet unnoticeable setback in audio. The built-in accelerometer also rotates the screen vertically and horizontally with swiftness and no lag. By far this is the best touchscreen smart phone you can get in the market now!

Running on 3G-connection, the Vibrant manages to boost an impressive speed that closely resembles Sprint’s 4G-network. The incorporation of a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor makes web browsing and navigation super responsive. Now in simple words it means you can text, listen to music and surf the web all at the same time. And you can also be on a call, as for the music when you are on a call it automatically tones down so you hear the other party better but if you prefer to listen to the music rather you have a choice! This is the real meaning and capacity of multitasking!! YOU can control two or more application at the same time.
