Physiologically Musical!
If music is known to influence a physiological parameter such as the heart rate or blood pressure then Aldridge argues music can be used therapeutically for patients who have problems with heart disease and hypertension..

Gadget Update!!
1st -
So yeah, I got another new cell phone. Pretty cool I should say as this phablet is superb and just by fetching the thing out of my pocket at work I have managed to sway many of my colleagues in favor of Samsung for their next cell phone up-date. It seems every every one wants a piece of the action.
1 - It is an upgrade from my Note 1!!!
2- It's BIG. Big for gaming, big for videos, big for web browsing. Simply put, if you want a phone with the most real estate on the screen size, then there is no alternative. Don't be so mesmerized on the 1080p screens that will come out soon. Unless you want to destroy your eyes and use the phone from an inch away, you will not notice the difference in everyday use.
3- It's fast. Yes, the Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-core beats this Tegra 3/Exynos 4 CPU in most benchmarks, but again, unless you are a hard-core geek that is OCD on numbers, you will not notice any difference in everyday use. There is no discernible lag anywhere (it's probably just your slow Internet connection).
4- It's beautiful. Not HTC or Sony beautiful, but this is one sleek and stylish phone. The white is classic, but this Titanium Gray is awesome. Just check out the back cover and you will see what I mean (yes, even with that cheap-feeling plastic material).
5- Did I mention the screen? It's BIG, it's bright, and it's beee-ay-eeww-ti-ful! AMOLED screens have awesome color saturation and contrast (most times even overkill, actually). Some people say it's not good in daylight. Um, have you tried cranking up the brightness??
6- The Samsung/Android touch. Not everyone may like Samsung's Touchwiz user interface compiled onto Android, but I dare you to find a phone with more features than this one (and similarly the Galaxy S3). Here are the main highlights:
a. Samsung utilizes the front facing camera almost to perfection. You can use it to control your music player; it has facial recognition to sense you are directly in front of the screen so it won't dim and turn off the screen (for reading, web browsing, video playback, etc.); it recognizes your facial orientation so that when you are lying down sideways looking at the screen, the accelerometer will not kick in to auto-rotate the screen in the wrong orientation. That is something that has always bothered me with other phones and FINALLY someone has added that feature! Granted, not all these features work flawlessly, but it's a great start.
b. Integration with Google is finally starting to show off in good ways. It was always once that Apple had the superior ecosystem. But now we see the future is bright indeed. Not just evolution, but finally innovation!
c. The S Pen and all the neat things you can do with it. Preview a point in the movie before skipping to that point, and other things like going old-school back to the PDA days!
7- It accepts up to a 64GB microSD card.

Top 5
Haricharan follows up his astounding rendition in Aiyaiyaiyo aanandhame (Kumki) with a blow-the-rafters-off vocal performance. Mr. D Imman's orchestra is very grand. It is quite different yet classical.
Ennodu Vaa Vaa is followed that sustains the long lasting interest for this playlist altogether. This song is absolutely groovy carrying a slight funky touch in the charanams, beautifully sung by Karthik. Absolute stunner this song is, however reminds me too much of Nilavu Paatu from Kannukkul Nilavu. How I miss Hariharan!
D Imman returns to do a solo rendition of Onnum Puriyala, and pulls it off beautifully. The orchestration is equally brilliant here, taking on a Illayaraja-esque quality in places (particularly felt that with the usage of chorus in the second interlude) and the first few picks on guitar.
The last song of this top five closes with Vennilave. Though the typical slow song to relax your mood by Harris. The delayed flute intrudes makes it quite interesting to continue listening. Hariharan and Bombay Jeyashree's renditions wins it into the top 5.
Scores collectively!

Anyways; This is one I've been meaning to post since the last spread. So finally now, I've compiled a list of tracks for anyone unfamiliar with what music can do to your soul. Good words and fine sentiments are not enough. The music must move us.
A good night's sleep really means feeling good at every step of the way. For example, one can pass out pretty happily after a big weekend evening of drinking, but I bet you he'll toss in the middle of the night and awake with a headache that really ruins it all.
Sometimes one may go to bed early and sleep really well through the night, but awake feeling grumpy and tired for no discernible reason. Both of these are problems and these songs will solve them both... and much more of course...
Malaragle -- Kanavaaaa
Chitra starts the song accompanied only by a very few soft instruments; violin and hit-hat in the backdrop. Then as you move on to the 1st interlude you realize the song is all about grandeur with exquisite pulsating beats, violins and upright/slap bass complementing each other. Al though the beats are ripped off from Paul Young's 'Love of common people', from the album 'No Parlez', released in 1983 which also happens to be commercial loops which anyone can use. A R Rahman's usage of the beats in this song is just magnificent!
Hariharan starts only after the 1st prelude but adds much more beauty to the song by his Hindustani classical laced singing switching frequently from bass notes to higher crescendos. Brilliant display of his versatility when he sings:
"Vaazhvodu Valarthidai Thaane Vanna Nilave Nilave Vaanoda Neelam Pole Ilaindhu Kondadhu Intha Uravu... "
I wanted to share this video of a super singer contestant singing this amazing song with amazing perfection for her age: I hope you enjoy it as much as the original at least for her effort!
And this just for fun:
Malargale Malargale Ithu Enna Kannavaa Mallaigale Mallaigale Ithu Enna Ninaivaa Urugiyathe Ennathu Ullam, Perugiyathe Vizhi Vellam Vinnodum Neethan Mannodum Neethan Kannodum Neethan Vaa Vaaa....

This shall be the start; I had come over all nostalgic and started to create top 50 lists from my formative years. And this song will be one of the 50 songs I am going to post about in the coming days.. into months. I must strongly emphasise that this list in no way reflects any order of my favourite music. In fact, it doesn’t even necessarily reflect any order just a few songs I have come cross over the years– it is merely the music and words that, for some reason, sticks in my mind from my early years. As you know I LOVE music as it it to me the air I breath!

OMG!! Kolaveri!!!

I love this version!!! Lyrics below:
Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri da
Once we're married hell is life-u
Life-u total out-u
Out-u 0ut-u you say out-u
We stand here hurt-u
Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri da
Dawn-u come-u, we go work-u
You sit there smoke-u
Money come-you take spend-u
How do I feed the kids-u
You say love love o my love I showed u bou-u
But love love here's cow-u
It gives back more than you-u
Now u tell me who is right-u
Are u happy now-u ?
This song is for all girls-u..we have the choice-u
Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri da
Hand-le knife-u
Knife-le blood-u
Girl-u future out-u
Parents pressure
Even culture
We see the bigger picture
My heart heart-u now is break
It is because of you-u
Break break what a break-u
My pail is full of tear-u
I have gave in so much love-u,
You still complain how-u?
You will never understand our plight-u
What am I to do -u
Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri da
Life reverse gear-u!
Why this kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri di?? Goes this song, it is simply incredibly, amazingly a catchy phrase. The casual singing style of Dhanush does the much needed attention of the "flop" song. With catchy rhythm arrangements it is indeed a perfect "soup song".You may listen to it together with your love, or all by yourself, you will have moments of pure pleasure! Undoubtedly.
IMHO, The songs is a hit beacuse it is not a wanna be pop song, but it’s about our audience, it understands it's important to use the kind of words that they can understand.

Happy Birthday Michael!
As you drove away...

Reflecting the reflections of morning hours of this day; July 22nd 2011! I was happy, thrilled to have caught you..though at far, distanced, driving away in the opposite direction... it made my heart cry.. in joy. Thank you my Angel!
As you already know, I practice sincere frankness whenever, however and in whatever manner I can. I believe that we all have one life to live and I live it simply! No running away from anything.. I fight till the end and give all I have for anyone I love and I did just that with you.. I expressed my thoughts straight.. no beating around the bush!
"pahalaa yeh wada humne kiya hai...Har zare zare ki yeh iltiza hai; O re Piya"
Angels do arrive; I know that! You might recall the above from the torn pieces a while back. I am not repeating but just recollecting! And today at this early evening hours I sit here in my room, facing the monitor, thy eyes!
Did that make you hate me? Did it push you away from me? Did it change our friendship? Are you not able to trust me anymore? Are you not as comfortable as before with me anymore?? I wish and hope that you would answer NO to all of the above questions, but it is still your choice to make.
"Naan naana? Kaetten ennai naane.. Naan neeya? Nenjam sonnadhe.."
Dial 1900 Mix It Up!

So, you get sprung? Then pull up front.. cause, I'm about to overwhelm you with my groove list, join me and dance yourself out!
What was that? You want me to stop talking and get-my-groove-on-songs? Sure thang!!!
Siren strains..

Somehow all these songs reminds me and speaks to me about one common factor...Take a listen yourself, I am sure these will definitely help you rediscover your lost passion for these wonderful songs and make you want to listen to them all over again.
Bahaar Banke Aaoon Kabhi Tumhaari Duniya Mein..Guzar Na Jaaye Yeh Din Kahin Isi Tamanna Mein..

Minutes Take So Long To Drift Away...Please Be Patient With Your Life,
It's Only Morning And You're Still To Live Your Day.

Update: Home Theater (mini)
It's been over 6 years since I updated my sweet spot (my home theater), and I've been getting anxious to bring it up a notch or two for the past one year. After a month and a half of weekends spent selling old junk on eBay and saving from going out and many other I finally came up with the capital needed for this rather heavy/steep project/hobby/desire.
As you guys know, I am a huge audioholic and the home theater is the centerpiece of any self respecting audioholic, but cashflow issues meant that I had to settle for a HTIB surround sound system... but still it was ONKYO!
Now anyway, at long last, I've picked that ball back up again... and here's the result: My home theater is now fully realized, thanks in part to my eBay sales and that I am taking an advance on (courtesy of my savings account).
Okay! the fun part; here is a little run down on what I used, why I used it, and some of the details that guys who build stuff might dig.
COMPONENTS:
- Panasonic 52" Plasma Display
- Onkyo Ht RC270Audio/Video Receiver
- Polk Audio RM75 series - Central and Surround/Back Speakers
- Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 800- Front Channel Speakers
- Onkyo & Polk Audio - Sub woofers! (yes, I have two)
- Sony BD570 Blu Ray Player
- Sony MDS JE510 Mini-disc Deck
- JVC XU301 MD/CD Combo Deck
- Dish Network (I need my Tamil Channels!!!)
- Self Made Ubuntu Media Center PC
- Xbox360 + Kinect + Michael Jackson Experience (highlight)
My initial idea called for a 65" display, but when I was placing the order I decided on 52" just because I liked the price of it. "three hundred and fifty dollars" ... see, it has a nice ring to it don't you think? Especially for a TV MSRPed @ $1169. I chose Cheetah Mounts from Amazon to mount the display on my wall. It was very easy to assemble and looks like it cost three times what I paid for it. Though you can't see unless you close enough and behind the TV!
Everyone knows sound would play a crucial role in bringing home that movie theater experience, and the Onkyo HT RC270 does the job admirably. See my review here: It features a host of excellent sound and video processing features and was also a steel from Amazon @ $479. Regular price: $689.
The Polk Audio RM75 series ($479) speaker system is the second star of the show and the first obviously is the one and only Definitive Technology, I got the Pro Monitor 800 series. The bass is incredibly stunning and the mids and highs are all very crisp and clear, and Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 800's ($219 x2) direct/reflecting speaker technology combined with my receiver's speaker calibration system have virtually eliminated any sweet spot in my room. You can experience an excellent and well balanced surround effect from just about anywhere in the seating area. I promise!
The sub brothers/woofers ROCK! Especially the Polk Audio PSW10($109). BTW, don’t muddle quality sound with other brands unless you are pairing a very basic setup with the sub woofer that has been directly designed for those speakers.
The Media Center PC providing all the content is an old Inspiron desktop that I'm running the Ubuntu Media Center OS on. It plays DVDs, records TV, plays my 1.3 TB of MP3 collection from my NAS server, displays family photos, Skype chat and surf the web. How cool is that?
Tips for your Home Theater: if you want to ensure the absolute best bang for the buck, let your ears make your audio decisions.
