Manmadhan Ambu

I watched MMA last night and I must say that it is a must watch in theater at least for the Neela Vaanam song sequence... it is presented in a wind back manner giving a very good feel. The characterization is extremely good (Except the finale 40 minutes). The script is very engaging right from the starting to middle but looses its way towards the end... or rather seemed rushed as in any movie scripted by Kamal Haasan! This smart script is also the negative point of Manmadhan Ambu, well written script may not go well with our masala movie aka "c" class fans, may not go with people expecting a Endhiran, Dasavatharam or Singam, this is different.

I like to give kudos to Kamal as it’s hard to make a good comedy movie with a strong story line, though there are few like ‘Sathi Leelavathi’ and this is another one. The script is written in such a way that the movie starts slowly, moves like a romantic movie, pick up pace and shifted to a mere "b" grade comedy movie at the end. The first half is full of comedy and bar sequences involving Madhavan and Sriman is very funny. After a very long time I get to see Madhavan in a stupendous character. He tickles every funny bones now and then at many portions. Trisha dubbing with her own voice and seen without skin shows should be well applauded. Thanks to Kamal Haasan!

Sangeetha proves to be an amazing actress in comedy roles as well. Ramesh Aravind and Oorvasi have acted in Kamal Haasan’s films in comedy oriented characters, but this time they have something different for you. Suriya’s cameo is FUN!

Verdict; *** go see it :)

  1. As a common cinegoer tired of the regular masala crap, the movie was refreshingly fun..
As a critical viewer, the movie is "Makki Pona Chombu" ;-)... Ottai mela ottai kadhaille...
