Smile more!
Tell people whom I love that I love them.
Listen more intently.
Bury my prejudices.
Look at the big picture and
don't sweat the small stuff!
Watch a child discover something new.
Do something totally silly once in a while!
Pray more and worry less!
Be quick to forgive others and myself.
Take responsibility for all my actions.
Make room for new friends.
Be free with compliments.

To answer you: I did not nor am I trying to be an ascetic, but, come to think of it, there is so much impermanence in this world that I have started to relinquish a little of it. It is only in surrendering that we gain. Dogmatic? maybe so.. ..But what ever it is I have passion to _______.

Birthday and other things..

Twenty six ways to celebrate mon anniversaire ;)

1. Make an Escapades list of your own for me-- get started by doing something you've always wanted to do, but have never done before.

2. Pretend that your name is Jegan. (Especially if you're a gal.) Make people call you Jegan all day long.

3. Sing Vallai Oosai. Loudly.

4. Have www.jegan777.blogspot.com tattooed onto your body.

5. Go to a pet store and watch the parakeets for a while. (You can buy one, but only if you promise to take very, very good care of it, and let it fly around all the time. Naming it after me is entirely optional. Singing Tamil song is recommended.)

6. Go to Dunkin Donuts and order X-large Hot Chocolate. Tip big.

7. Buy yourself a balloon. Balloons are happy.

8. Go see a movie. Your movie snack should consist of a Dew and Popcorns. They are good!

9. Write me and say hello, especially if you've never written before. I always like getting mail, and I always answer it. Eventually.

10. Get people you know to live close to work or the train/bus. Long commutes in the car are responsible for a tremendous share of global warming!

11. Watch Blood Diamond, Apocalypto & The Holiday. Just because it's what I saw over the weekend.

12. Indulge my hankering to be called "spidy." C'mon, just for a day?

13. Join the unknown.

14. Sing very loudly in public. Bonus points if you sing badly, get weird looks from strangers, or pick a song I really like.

15. Create a work of art. (Photograph, painting, poem, song... whatever.) Dedicating it to me and sending it to me is optional.

16. Wear a really obnoxious hat.

17. Play The Sims. Name one of your Sims after me. Consider that party balloons and a heart shaped bed will make the Sim happy. Send me periodic reports on what the Sim is doing, and who he's doing it with.

18. Have me! (This only applies to a select few of you. You know who you are.)

19. Write a poem, even if you think it sucks, even if you've never written a poem before, even if it rhymes. Send it to me.

20. Wear wrist fluffies. (You can create fluffies by purchasing a feather boa, cutting it in half and wrapping one half around each wrist.) Do the wrist fluffy disco.

21. Look at this list and say derisively, "Birthday Feh." (This option is only available if you are my dad.)

22. Bake me some cookies. Mmm. I like cookies.

23. Dye your hair some outrageous color that you've always wanted to try. (Then, let your roots grow out for like six months (like I used to have), so half your hair is one color and the other half is the other color. So you can have bizarre two-toned hair.)

24. Do something nice for yourself on my behalf. And wear glitter while you do it.

25. Organize a fireworks display right over my house. Include those fireworks like they have at the end of Jegan that spell out my name. Or skywriting! Skywriting would be good, too.

26. Just remember I love you. And keep reading!

But any I'd like to continue all the good habits I've developed this year. Of course there's room for improvement, but I do try harder to be nice to people, I eat better, I exercise more, I write more. I have more self control. I'm not a profligate spender. I have my escapades list, which is very motivating and has some worthwhile stuff on it. Remeber it is never too late to send me gifts :)

Life .. has been truly busy. Why I am writing this right now and not sleeping, does not make sense, but after reading other friends’ blogs, I realized that doing this is a must right now. Also embedded in my mind is the magical moment, when Hariharan stepped up to the microphone and caused my heart to pump a little faster and my blood to run a little warmer. I am talking about the Jaya Tv Program which I got to watch thanks to YouTube.

As a long-time, devout Hariharan fan, even if he hadn't arrived on Jaya TV in his usual top form, I would have attached the "awesome label" to his "as smooth as silk" vocal performance of "Malargale" ("Muthan Muthalil"), but I can honestly and unbiasedly say that I haven't heard his voice sound warmer, richer, more passionate, more relaxed, more sincere, and more controlled than it did during the few minutes when the spotlight was focused on him, and he held the audience in the palms of his hands.

Yes! I am aware now; having/raising a puppy is like having a 1-2 year-old. Until they are trained, they require pretty much constant supervision. After they are trained, they still require supervision until they are older. But then I believe life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, spicy dosa in the other, body used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOOOOHOO WHAT A RIDE!!!

Thus I am here today! My pups as you guys know were adopted from The Fallston Animal Rescue Movement Inc. Which was begun by Greg and Barbara Bertling to find homes for some of the wonderful, loving pets abandoned, lost or given up and scheduled for euthanasia at area shelters. Thus, FARM means the difference between life and death for the pets rescued by its volunteers.

Providing food, shelter, medical care, behavioral evaluation and affection from volunteers, they take great care to find responsible, loving, permanent homes for each pet they save. The FARM, will you help, has rescued and placed over 3,000 dogs and cats since its beginning in October, 2000.While the adoption donations typically cover the vet costs for the 'average' rescue dog, there are always extra expenses associated with dogs that require special care or surgery.

Through your generosity, provides a new unwrapped toy or treats to a puppy. FARM works in concert - not in competition - with other charitable Organization to fulfill the dreams of needy dogs. Please send checks made payable to THE FARM and mail it to my attention if you care.

NOTE: it could be as little as $5.00 and remember it is tax deductible :)

You look like an Intellectual person, said Ms Ellena. I am no doctor, engineer or an academic. And you all know that. Honestly, I am not even a good writer either. As you will go through my blog, you may find several grammatical errors and lack of a scholar’s comments. However, there should not be any spelling mistake except for non-English words. Bill Gates invented Microsoft Office Words and added only English words in spelling check. Though, this wonder of science helps me a lot. As long as you understand what I meant, please don’t complain.

I am a simple man. I believe, right is right and wrong is wrong. I believe truth is one and only, whereas untrue have numerous colors and faces. I do not believe what I read. I use my own judgment and think pragmatically. I use the golden rules of logic and reason to convince myself. So I guess she is right in a way. Any say guys? Please lead my path, enlighten my intelligence with the light of the truth.

Oh BTW, she also said my brother looks to be a very Artistic person, which I believe he is too.

I was talking to a friend about "twenty minutes of your time" makes the who you are to him! I know it is hard to comprehend, hence; Think to the point where this idea appears as a picture in your mind, this tiny planet appears as only a speck when viewed from outer space, yet it is so important; for only here can the so called biological experiment(inter say what!) which expands the power of God and the wisdom of God be cradled. Without this world, God could not grow in wisdom. He would be stagnant if he could not expand beyond what he is.

God is an ever increasing illumination, an ever increasing creative power, an ever increasing wisdom and - by reason of this one little speck called earth, where he wears these little garments of mortality - God is holding to the promise he made himself: to awaken within himself and fulfill the play recorded in scripture. And yet people aren't really sincere... duh!

And why aren't they sincere? Because they're still unsure and uncertain. The idea isn't really clear in their heads. This uncertainty is what gets in the way of success.

Ok! then what is the sollution? Start out by using appropriate attention in considering things over and over, around and around many times. Only then — when things are really clear in the mind — should we act. But keep in mind if you think too much, it'll run away with your concentration. I need to breathe now.. so do you ;)

It would increase the use of veto pen ;) But seriously it could mean roll back on tax cuts; end of war profiteering; boost for minimum wages; easier/faster means for immigrants to earn citizenship. Just to name a few.. a Tamil proverb comes to my mind now ( Appan Arumai Maandal Theriyum) meaning; it is only when we pause to look back and to take our bearings, that we realize what a long way we have come and what we have missed.

What ever it may be I’m not a republican or a democrat. So I care less ;) What about you? Remeber each one of us has to try and delve as deeply as possible within him/herself to see what really is the propelling force or hidden motive behind his/her activities. Lies your answer!

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just...

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just...

Smile, though your heart is aching

As said; One cannot have the best of both worlds. Let go of one, maybe you'll se the beauty of the other one. Yes, it is hard to choose which one but just close your eyes, think of both worlds. Which makes you smile more?

Well anyway I went to two Halloween parties (all the time I kept wondering, What is this all about?) in the last two days. One sort-of-job-related that made me feel good about party-going. So often it seems like the industry gets together and drinks and eats just so people can pack more exploitable information into their Rolodexes.

Be it accelering to a smooth cruise of 100 MPH, beautifully fit girls, extravagant cars, to die for beach, relaxing mountain views, I loved my trip to the majestic state of California! Off of Sacramento, Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Solvang, Hollywood, Spring Valley, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Malibu I think San Francisco is my favorite city in the US. It has a great feel of Europe with all of the interesting little neighborhoods and there is a ton to see and do. Not going to bore you more; some pictures here :)

So why does the Hindu gods have three or more heads?? – She asked me. Ignorance? Well, what ever it is; the answer I gave her as follow:

Every single living man or women devoted to abstract knowledge, is inextricably linked together as a multifaceted ornament (in this case “aarumugan”); at the center is the universal divine illumination that is timeless because it is always immeasurably and imperceptibly present. Which is surrounded by a field of life in which we are embedded. Whether we talk about light, space, time, energy or matter, we are talking about the source of energy that links all creatures together. Resembling that is the Hindu god Muruga AKA Karthikeya.

I thought it was a brilliant answer.. quite impressed with myself; the post. Any say guys?

Talk to her

Love is like water. If it doesn't flow, it stagnates is very true, one would come to know upon seeing the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar's novel approach titles Talk to Her. I was stunned to say the least.

**Must see**

"Love is saddest when it goes away," one character notes. Perhaps that's why, for all its inventiveness and wry humor, "Talk to Her" remains an essentially melancholy movie. Love is all there is, the filmmaker insists.
Love may be futile, bizarre, unhealthy, but it is still love. And in Almodóvar's universe, it's all that really matters.

Should have cast Surya Instead of Dr. Kamalhassan! I think the script was not strong enough to case Kamals talent. But it would have been superb with Surya playing as he could have brought it more youthfulness.

It would have been apt if it was Surya instead of Kamal, Jyothika instead of Kamlini in the flashback and Kamlini in place for Joythika.

Overall VV is a let down for me - a Kamal fan!

If you did not yet, please notice that the name of the game in caste ordering is power and wealth. Realize, God has no caste, our soul or 'the self' is also casteless. Yet why do you claim? Why living entities are engulfed by the razing fire called 'Jathi'

Stop identifying souls with the material body instead of the real Self! Treat me the way you would yourself! Recognize the entire mankind as one family! Don't let our human greed and the inherent need to have power and rule destroy the knowledge that was accumulate over thousands of years.

Anyway I have to say that my main goal this week was to get this puppy to do something, anything, for me without me having to resort to making the pup work. Oh BTW, he climbs up the stairs to my room now! So he IS getting ready!

Yesterday, I accidentally came upon a movie, evidently less important; it (movie) talks about the so-called "Aacharam" Poor people! it is very sad to see their religious aspirations so mis-directed, one can only hope that the true God, whose children they also are, may listen to their ignorant prayers and take pity on them.

Errmm, Okay! So how do I walk that fine line between my enthusiasm for all of this versus "Hey, you know it really is all about me, isn't it?". Hoping you'll give me the benefit of the doubt and lend me a crowbar if I ever appear to have too much difficulty getting my head through a door! :-)

My 2 cents for the moment.
Life is ….. not free, yet free’er than you know of.
Life is … get a job, pay the bills, eat, sleep, clean up and do it all over again.
Many people are hurting, no matter where they are.
Many people feel rejected, unloved and inadequate.
Be the someone that you can be proud of
Not a hidden factor or even a hidden part.
Inch by inch, Minute by minute
Slowly but surely
Layer after layer comes off,
When will it end?

Like anybody was asking him too!! Anyway the theatre's plush reclining seats, the gorgeous carpet, and the amazing sound system wowed me. Settling back in my chair, I relaxed as the ads/trailers came on.

Surprised/amazed/excited/thrilled I literally shouted in joy when the Spiderman 3 trailed was aired. Now I can't wait to see the movie next year.. it seems to be very far away!!! Now as for the other so called man movie we were at was ok! I slept through the first 20 mins anyway.

Subramani jumped up and down, waving its front legs (hands) around and generally trying its best to get a raise out of me. It was funny! So anyway I 've been very busy with my little buddy teaching him; housebreaking, Subramani has been pretty good at not having accidents in the house, I take him outside and he goes. He’s getting good at staying by me outside that I do not have to take him out on leash.

But what I am working really hard on, is getting him to Socialize; I’ve made a point to be sure to play with his feet, put my hands in his mouth to remove things, and touch his food while he’s eating. This will help to make him a lot less aggressive as he gets older. The only thing he has a bit of a problem with is when I put my hands in his mouth to take something away. He tries to make a game of tug-of-war out of it by clamping down harder. I’ve just been firm and not pulled, but sternly said “drop it” while holding the item, and he usually loosens his grip enough for me to take it.

But persistence is the Key and I know it!

On savait qu'il fallait des matches à répétition. Mais mon sentiment, c'est le 9 juillet (date de la finale à Berlin). **m'entendre ??**

Times flies, Yes! But then it is truly amazing to see how quickly our Subramani kutti had grown from little wriggly bundle of fluff into sharp toothed, sharp clawed little monster!!! It seemed like last week we were worrying about how fragile he is - now, I was out with the nail clippers to smooth off the first razor sharp nails. And as for those teeth......

note: your question is answered Sri!

BUSY!!!!

Ok, so it's been like, 9 years or something since I last updated this. I've been busy. Very busy. All right, so if I don't update this now, I'll probably get deleted…Ok, ok so I kept putting it off… Anyway, so much has happened since the last update.....so it is NOW time for an update!

I often here others say that they are too busy. In fact, I might say this, too. When I hear someone say they are too busy, often it is an excuse. If someone is at the door that I don't want to talk to, I might say that I am too busy. If someone calls me on the phone, I might have other things that I would rather do than talk to them. When something does not fit into my plans, I often use this excuse that I am too busy. Busy, busy, busy. Why am I so busy? What am I busy doing? Some times I have legitimate reasons for being busy. Ermmmm Priorities!!!!!

'You' are afraid to get hurt, and as a defence mechanism, you avoid intimacy without being aware of it.

Even though 'You' suffered a lot, you never had time to really and deeply experience the loss, and therefore you are unable to mourn and get over it.

Try to expand your world!

Precious moments,
When I'm around you, I just can't speak.
I want to erase and start from scratch,
So I can fix all the holes I left un-patched.
This I tell you, because I really care.
This short poem, was written by my good friend for his love.
Time flies soo quickly I cant seem to catch up sometime..
BTW, they are getting married coming August!

Life behind bars

It'’s a shitty life; till you realize!

The Shawshank Redemption a prison drama is about one mans hope, dream and will power. Watching people without hope find new resources for hope touches me greatly. I am fascinated by the stubbornness, patience and singleness of purpose - but perhaps most of all by the ability to never let go of hope, remarkably adopted by Tim Robbins.

Morgan Freeman moves in us, as us, through us, he cannot be separated from the film. Be it his acting or narration, simply superb!

Must watch!!!

"The first night's the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in naked as the day you were born, skin burning and half blind from that delousing shit they throw on you, and when they put you in that cell... and those bars slam home... that's when you know it's for real. A whole life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the world to think about it."

Happy Birthday Dad, - an inspiration for my life. I can honestly wish I turn out to be just like my mom and dad. Which in itself is an amazing feat. I love you very much :) On this special day of yours I have taken the liberty of making a birthday wish on your behalf and that is that my children will one day think I am as great as you. Which I have no fear upon as your deeds seeds upon me.

Don't hide, listen to my advice! If you have someone who needs you don’t turn away unless you absolutely have to.
So many thoughts were running through your mind- when you heard 'someone' coming. You wipe away the tears and stand up.
FYI
Love..Such a simple word. Yet its simplicity ends with itz spelling. Its meaning is as diverse as all of our human cultures. As subjective as it is personal.

HiStory does repeat itself! It leaves HiM in fascination of how events that happened a year ago can emerge now to repeat itself again. But just that this time hE is on the loosing end. hE can't bear to see HeR with another, see HeR kiss his pain away while HiM sits in HiS room crying blood for HeR and slowly drying up HiS veins.

To learn; never can we escape time or history, we can only learn from it!

Fear,(conscious or unconscious) is often that prevents one from trying to obtain the things he/she really want in life. Do you envision the words of the skeptics ringing in your ear "see I told you" upon your notional failure? Well you're not alone. I too had the same fears and overcame them, and my reward for that is a beautiful and healthy life. Fear is no more than a frame of mind and it can be conquered.

Work to defeat your fears and take back what is rightfully yours. Your life!!!!

Drawing on skills learned in a comprehensive two year training course/program/actual, I have now the art of the consultative process to keep me in demand. At least that is what I think.

My first day in the field(new) was lovely than expected! I am very thankful to Tracy for that. She had influenced me to this adventure. It is too early to say much, but the first instinct usually says at least this much!

Evolve to resolve!

| Friday, April 21, 2006
Explore..
So me and I were talking about our recent changes ..Life changes. Briefly, anyway. Because we all have different values, gifts, and dreams, our ways of simplifying life or so in this case changing life pattern will naturally represent a delightful range of choices.

Thinking about it, looks like what Jegan has gone through in the past few weeks, is simply his way of living condition and tradition/culture/pattern changes. Which I assume one might call as life changes. But getting to the actually changes, it all started with the day to day work life getting to a point where he would daze in and out yet exceeding his goals. No bullshit here! It was just getting to a point where I had to make a few changes to how when and why things are done the way they are.

So the appropriate changes were considered, evaluated, discussed and made finally! April the 25th 2006 Jegan takes a new path, a new culture and new territories to conquer. He may be starting his new year a bit behind time but it is going to be a rocking NEW YEAR!

Moral of the story; when ever one conserves, recycles, reuses, shares, or forgos a marginally important trait, he/she make a difference through her/his actions and by his/her example. Making it for the better!

Evolve to resolve!
