Spiderman 3

**UPDATE **
must watch in IMAX- I liked it more after watching it in IMAX, makes a lot of diffrence and makes the movie go faster. It is as though you are part of the movie!!!

Though, my opinion is irrelevant to the inevitable box office bonanza, I still don’t think S3 lived to its expectation! Why? For one, Venom, my favorite villain is not focused enough and to make maters worst has been drastically changed from the comic book. Saying that does not mean Spiderman him self is any where near the comic book hero. As you can tell I’m a comic junkie!

Anyway let’s take a closer look at the movie and its villain –

Venom (looks some what realistic enough) - Spiderman 3 should entirely be about Venom! He is one of Spiderman's greatest foe. Why? He has all of Spidey's abilities and Spiderman's spider-sense doesn't seem to work when Venom's on him. Venom is a brilliant addition to this movie but Sam got it all wrong with the size of Venom or Eddie Brock. He should have picked bulky, huge and muscular figures to star as Venom because Venom is actually about thrice the size of Spidey? Also Venom itself is an Entity. Who talks in plural not singular!! (The suit can mimic clothing why would peter have to wear it under his own clothes…?).The development of Venom is short and even though the alien symbiote that created Venom is "allergic" to sound, Venom does not DIE so easily! Symbiote can't die, if so, Spiderman wouldn't have had so many problems with Venom in the comics!

Sandman – I am not a big fan of him, the only reason I can think of for his addition in the 2.5 hour long dramatic/ mushy romantic is graphics. Needless to say it was amazing! Animations are amazing but the length of the movie is a bit too much. Sam should not have included Sandman, developed Venom thoroughly and maybe leave a slight hint of Carnage at the end of the movie as a teaser to Spiderman 4!

Mary Jane - I never was too crazy about Kirsten Dunce playing one of the hottest comic book women ever. Anyway, she was even more horrible than the previous two!

Gwen Stacy - Personally, I would not have even introduced Gwen into this movie when the original Spider-Man storyline wasn't followed from the beginning with Stacy's death by the Goblin's hand in the first film. If you're not a geek (which I am) you won't be aware of the significance of the arrival of Gwen Stacey so here's a little bit of exposition. In the comic book Peter Parker loved Gwen long before MJ came along. Loved her. Lost her.

Overall the movie obviously did not live up to my expectation but certainly did not completely disappoint me either. Like where they showcased character depth, and bit of Spiderman's evil side.
